Social justice is a priority for Tommy in his career as he finds himself in leadership positions that give him the privilege to ensure diversity, inclusion, and equity are a part of the work culture and the creative that is produced. 

Growing up as a gay man in Jasper, Indiana, Tommy led a group of community organizers to start the first Gay Straight Alliance at his high school. Through this process, Tommy and his best friend started the non-profit, Raise Up, which developed resources, hosted community events, and advocated for legislation on behalf of the LGBTQ+ community in Southern Indiana. In 2011, Tommy was selected as a Point Foundation Scholar and continues as a Point Alumni and Scholar Coach to empower LGBTQ+ students to reach their full potential. 

At NBCU, Tommy was selected as a BOLD Advocate in 2020 with a mission to influence, inspire and develop the next generation of leaders by empowering diverse, high-performing talent from early stage careers to executive leadership

As a committed activist for Black Lives Matter, gender equality, and class equality, Tommy works to ensure his creative and managerial impact give voice to those who need uplifting in the fight for change.
